What is cylindrical tumor
I believe that everyone has heard of cancer. There are many types of cancer. Cylindromas are benign cancers. Most of them are adults. The incidence of the disease is large. Come to check, can be treated by surgery, pay attention to rest at the same time of treatment, diet should also be controlled.
cylindrical tumors are benign skin Adnexal tumors are more common in the scalp. It may be immature epithelioma of the sweat glands, but some of them differentiate into small sweat glands. Mostly hemispherical nodules, multiple lesions can cover the entire scalp, similar to a turban, also known as a turban tumor. Histopathology is characterized by clear dermal or subcutaneous tumor boundaries and no envelope. It is composed of many tumor cell clumps of different sizes and shapes. The tumor clumps are arranged in an island-like compact. The characteristic change is that the transparent material around the tumor forms a thick film, which separates the tumor into a puzzle. The disease is a benign tumor and malignant transformation is rare, but the long-term turban tumor has a tendency to malignant transformation. Surgical resection is the first choice for treatment.
This disease is a rare benign tumor, divided into two types.
1. Multiple Cylindromas: It has been confirmed to be related to the loss of heterozygosity of the CYLD gene on chromosome 16 and is an autosomal dominant inheritance. It is seen in Familial Cystoma and Bruker-Spiegler Syndrome.
2. Single cylindrical tumor: It may be a small tumor derived from the small sweat gland or the apocrine sweat gland.
The disease is more common in adults, with smooth hemispherical masses seen on the head and neck, and occasionally on the face, external auditory meatus, trunk and limbs. The characteristic change in histopathology is that the transparent material surrounding the tumor forms a thick film that divides the tumor into a puzzle. According to histopathological examination, it is not difficult to diagnose.
Single cylindrical tumors are rarely malignant and can be surgically removed as needed; turban tumors have a tendency to malignant, and surgical resection is the first choice.
