Kidney stones are mostly calcium oxalate deposited in the urine, mainly due to excessive intake of oxalic acid, combined with calcium when urinary tract is eliminated to form calcium oxalate deposits to form kidney stones. The key to prevention and treatment of kidney stones is to reduce the intake of foods containing oxalic acid such as spinach, grass heads, bamboo shoots, wild rice, etc.; these foods should be eaten less, boiled when eating to remove oxalic acid content.
