Today, when I saw my cousin eating water chestnuts when I went back to the countryside, I ate them with the skin. Can the water chestnut skin be eaten?

Water chestnuts are born in paddy fields, and their skin absorbs many harmful and toxic biological excreta, and also contains parasites. Eating raw water chestnut skin will cause discomfort symptoms such as diarrhea and vomiting. In addition, everyone needs to be reminded that water chestnut skin contains more starch, and diabetic patients should eat with caution.
