Because a large amount of fructose enters the cell for rapid metabolism, the synthesis of adenosine triphosphate is increased. The molecular structure of adenosine triphosphate contains purine base, which can release purine after being decomposed, and finally be metabolized into uric acid, causing the increase of blood uric acid. Therefore, honey is not suitable for people suffering from gout and hyperuricemia.
