I bought some soybeans from the supermarket and they didn't germinate when they were brewed to make bean sprouts. Why didn't the soybeans I soaked germinated?

Soybeans soaked by themselves do not sprout, the most likely reason is that the soybeans are "dead". The seeds are also old and dead. If the soybeans are left in the refrigerator for a year, the germination rate will drop to about 60%. If left for more than 30 months, the germination rate is only 20%~30%. Some varieties will even collectively "die" after being kept at room temperature for one year. In addition, soybean does not germinate, it may be because the soaking time is too long or lack of oxygen. Therefore, the premise to ensure that bean sprouts are emitted is to use fresh soybeans.
