Our family's diet is relatively salty. I heard that a high-salt diet can cause cancer. Is this true?

High-salt and salted foods contain a lot of nitrate, which is converted into nitrite by bacteria in the stomach, and then combined with amines in food to form ammonium nitrite, which has a strong carcinogenicity.
