I heard that preservatives are sprayed on fruits such as lemons. If you eat such fruits frequently, you may cause excessive intake of preservatives. What adverse effects will this have?

Citric acid is a preservative commonly used in fruits such as lemon and grapefruit. It can increase the environmental acidity of microorganisms and make it difficult for bacteria to grow and reproduce. Although citric acid will not harm the digestive organs of the human body, it will promote the excretion and deposition of calcium in the body, which may cause hypocalcemia and increase the risk of duodenal cancer.
