Is the effect of food iron supplementation good?

Female  20 years old 2018-06-26
I suffer from iron-deficiency anemia, and I thought that as long as I pay attention to iron supplementation from the diet, it will get better. Can the effect of food iron supplementation really be good?

Although food can supplement iron, the effect is not significant. Spinach and other iron-rich plants contain non-heme iron, and only about 2% to 20% non-heme iron can be absorbed. In contrast, the iron in animal foods, especially meat, is called heme iron, and only 15% to 35% can be absorbed.
