It is widely said that eating spinach can supplement blood. From the perspective of iron content in spinach, 100 grams of spinach contains 2.9 mg of iron, which is close to lean meat (3 mg). The claim that spinach supplements blood seems reasonable. However, like other plants, the iron in spinach is non-heme iron, the absorption rate is very low, and it is easily affected by other dietary factors such as oxalic acid.
