I recently saw an advertisement saying that trace elements can be screened. Is this screening meaningful?

The values of zinc, iron, calcium, lead and other elements in blood samples must be more reliable than hair samples. However, with the exception of blood lead, the overall diagnostic value of other elements is not great, and the reference significance is extremely small (if not said to be none). Because the detection value of zinc, iron and calcium in the blood can not accurately and timely reflect the same element in the body. Therefore, it is not feasible to rely on these test values alone to diagnose iron deficiency, calcium deficiency, or zinc deficiency. It is basically a waste of money. The Health and Family Planning Commission has issued a document prohibiting the use of trace element testing for nutrition screening.
