Should patients with peritoneal dialysis supplement more protein? The more you make, the better?

If protein intake is insufficient, hypoproteinemia is likely to occur, and even ultrafiltration disorders and malnutrition edema may occur. If too much protein is taken, it will increase the protein content in the diafiltration solution, increase the possibility of occlusion and infection of the abdominal cavity, and increase the burden of residual kidneys. The supply of protein should be 1.5g/(kg•d), of which high-quality protein accounts for more than 2/3 of the total protein mass. The high-quality protein in the diet mainly comes from fish, poultry, lean meat, eggs, milk and other foods.
