Is the sodium content in sea salt low?

Female  36 years old 2018-06-24
Because high blood pressure requires a low-salt diet, my friend told me that the sodium content in sea salt is low. You can usually eat sea salt. Is that the case?

The sodium in sea salt is the same as the sodium in ordinary salt. A survey by the American Heart Association found that 61 people believe that sea salt contains less sodium than table salt. In fact, sea salt and table salt have the same sodium content, both of which are 40%. Dr. Rachel Johnson said that although sea salt is rich in magnesium, potassium and calcium, these nutrients can also be obtained through other foods.
