Vitamin D supplementation is one of the important combined treatment measures for sarcopenia [4]. The inadequate intake of animal foods and the inability to go out make the intake of vitamin D synthetically inadequate for most elderly people. Appropriately increasing the intake of foods with high vitamin D content such as marine fish, animal liver and egg yolk, while increasing outdoor activities also helps to increase the serum vitamin D level of the elderly and prevent sarcopenia. The recommended daily intake of vitamin D is 15~20μg/d (600~800IU/d). Vitamin D₂ and vitamin D₃ can be used instead.
