My grandma suffers from diabetes and is always afraid of aggravating the disease by eating salt. How much salt does a diabetes patient need to eat?

The American Diabetes Association limits the daily salt intake of diabetics to no more than 2300mg (normal people use about 3440mg of salt per day), while for diabetics or seniors with high blood pressure, the limit is more strict: no More than 1500mg.
