An analysis of more than 3,000 women with an average age of 50 years in the UK for 10 years found that dietary vitamin K1 has a protective effect on the bone density of the hip and lumbar spine. However, women who consume 116 µg daily will have stronger bone density than women who consume 162 µg. It is believed that bone density will not continue to increase as the intake of vitamin K1 continues to increase [11]. Recent Japanese studies have found that whether men or women, eating MK-7-rich foods such as fermented soybeans can reduce hip bone density loss.
