People who have filled their teeth with amalgam should not chew gum. Studies have found that regular chewing gum will cause some of the mercury in the filling material to be released and enter the body. A large amount of mercury entering the human body can cause neurological diseases, chronic diseases and mental diseases. Although there is very little mercury released from dental filling materials, it should be taken just in case.
