I like to eat hot pot in winter, or eat hot pot at home. Sometimes it can cause oral ulcers. What health risks does eating hot food have?

Under normal circumstances, the temperature of the human mouth and esophagus is between 36.5°C and 37.2°C. The temperature of food when eating hot food is generally 60℃-70℃. This temperature will scald the oral cavity, causing blistering, ulceration and other oral diseases. It may also scald the esophageal mucosa and chronic inflammation will form in the long run. If the mucosal damage has not been repaired and is scalded, repeated many times, it is easy to cause superficial ulceration of the mucosa, leading to chronic oral mucosal inflammation, oral mucosa leukoplakia, esophagitis, atrophic gastritis and other diseases. Over time, it will induce changes in the quality of the mucosa, causing cancer.
