My son has had diarrhea for several days. I just had a test for viral enteritis. Do I need to use antibiotics for my baby?

Viral enteritis does not require antibiotics. Bacterial enteritis selects antibiotics according to the pathogen, or adjusts according to the results of drug sensitivity tests. Escherichia coli selects ampicillin, gentamicin oral tablets, polymyxin E, and third-generation cephalosporin for severe cases. Salmonella typhimurium oral amoxicillin, the third-generation cephalosporins. Macrolides for Campylobacter jejuni. Staphylococcus aureus enteritis with new blue Ⅱ, vancomycin. For fungal enteritis, antibiotics were stopped and oral nystatin was taken.
