In chronic heart failure, water retention is secondary to sodium retention. There is no need to strictly limit the amount of fluid while limiting sodium. However, considering that too much fluid can increase the circulation burden, it is recommended that the daily intake be 1000~1500ml, according to the season and the disease. If accompanied by edema, it is recommended to limit the amount of fluid to 1000ml/d. If sodium intake has decreased and excretion has increased, it is not necessary to strictly limit the liquid intake. It can be supplied from 1500 to 1700 ml/d to relieve thirst and make the patient comfortable.
