Patients with liver cirrhosis should eat less meat and eggs. Patients with elevated blood ammonia must limit the supply of protein in the diet, especially animal protein, to reduce the metabolism of amino acids and reduce blood ammonia concentration. Animal protein includes meat, eggs, milk, etc., but meat produces the most ammonia, followed by eggs, and milk produces the least.
