Infants and young children will experience slow growth, decreased taste, loss of appetite, anemia, poor wound healing, and low immune function. The best source of zinc is clams and shellfish, such as oysters, scallops, etc., containing more than 10mg of zinc per 100g, followed by mushrooms, nuts and beans, meat and eggs also contain a certain amount of zinc. The recommended amount of zinc for infants 1 to 3 years old is 9 mg/day.
