Heart and lung are anatomically adjacent, functionally interdependent and closely related. When the lips die cold and the lungs are affected, the heart is the first to be hit. Once there is inflammation in the lungs, the area of gas exchange is reduced, the function is reduced, the blood oxygen partial pressure is reduced, carbon dioxide is retained, and the pulmonary capillary pressure is increased, and the pulmonary artery pressure is increased. Both of these can increase the heart burden and induce heart failure.
