How pregnant women eat vegetarian food to meet fetal nutrition

Male  27 years old 2018-04-23
I am pregnant, but I am a vegan. I am worried that my vegetarian diet may affect my baby’s absorption of nutrients. What should I do?

If pregnant women do not eat any meat, egg, or milk, they can add nutritional supplements. The Chinese Resident’s Meal Guide 2016 recommends that infants, children, and pregnant women should not choose a fully vegetarian diet. Moreover, if vegetarians are a specific group of people such as infants, children, pregnant women, etc., nutrient supplements or fortified foods (under the guidance of doctors, nutritionists, or related professionals) can be used to avoid lack of nutrition.
