I have been suffering from high blood pressure. When I went online today, I saw a health article saying that eating tofu regularly can lower blood pressure. Why?

This is because legumes are rich in isoflavones, a substance that is a key compound in soy milk, tofu, green tea and peanuts. Its effect is to induce an increase in enzymes, which can produce nitric oxide and promote blood vessel dilation, which reduces the blood pressure of the blood vessel wall.
