Health guidance for patients with bronchial asthma
Bronchial asthma is a chronic inflammatory disease of the airways and is an allergic disease. Bronchial smooth muscle spasm, mucosal congestion and edema, increased secretion during the attack, leading to airway stenosis. The typical clinical symptoms are recurrent exhaled dyspnea with phlegm sounds between the larynx. Asthma cannot be cured at present, but it can be prevented. Repeated attacks of this disease can lead to emphysema and pulmonary heart disease, affecting the quality of life and longevity; if the disease can be prevented and controlled for a long period of time, it will not only improve the quality of work and life, but also not affect the lifespan. This shows that it is particularly important to promote health education knowledge of asthma patients and improve self-management skills.
1. Promote asthma knowledge and do psychological care: explain and teach patients about asthma, such as preventing respiratory tract infections, avoiding allergens, wearing masks in winter and spring, all can prevent effect. Let patients know that although asthma cannot be cured, it can be prevented and clinically cured. Help patients build confidence, overcome disease, and control asthma.
2. Search for allergens: Instruct patients to observe substances related to their own diseases in their lives, such as drugs, food, pollen and paint, etc., to avoid contact with potentially allergic substances and incentives. Reduce the number of attacks and play a role in controlling asthma.
3. Reasonable medication and partnership with doctors: Patients should tell their specialists about their physical discomforts and ideas, and form a partnership with doctors to jointly develop a long-term effective treatment plan. There must be no disorderly medical treatment, you must go to a regular hospital for asthma treatment.
4. Proper use of metered-dose inhaler: According to the doctor’s prescription, for each inhaler required by the patient, the patient should be demonstrated and taught to use correctly. If there are multiple aerosols, the order of inhalation should be indicated. Generally, the bronchodilator is inhaled before the anti-inflammatory aerosol.
5. Carry medicines with you: instruct patients to carry antiasthmatic aerosols with them, and inform patients if there is a warning sign of asthma, they should be treated with inhalation immediately to avoid nervousness. Take appropriate measures.
6. Use the peak flow meter to monitor the condition: let the patient understand the measurement and recording method of the peak flow meter, and record the asthma diary. Record the time, severity, and medication of asthma.
7. Rehabilitation guidance: Asthma patients should take physical exercise during the remission period to enhance their physical fitness and improve the body’s ability to resist disease, but avoid strenuous exercise. Advise smokers to quit smoking, maintain optimism, avoid fatigue and colds, reduce the number of asthma attacks, breathe freely, and improve the quality of life.
