The iron soy sauce logo is messy
Adding iron soy sauce (iron fortified soy sauce), as the name implies, is to add iron to the soy sauce. Currently, NaFeEDTA is added (the chemical name is sodium ethylenediamine tetraacetate, also called "according to the subway"). Iron-added soy sauce is of great value in preventing iron-deficiency anemia. It is safe and reliable, and hardly affects the original flavor of soy sauce, so it is widely recommended.
In order to distinguish it from ordinary soy sauce and make it easier for consumers to purchase, the iron soy sauce has a special logo printed on the label. At present, there are two kinds of logos on the market for iron soy sauce products.
is a product promoted by the Food Intensification Office of the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention (led by the Ministry of Health), and its special logo is shown below. At present, except for iron soy sauce, the center has not launched other fortified foods, only this one.
The other is the product promoted by the National Public Nutrition Improvement Project Office of the Public Nutrition and Development Center (under the National Development and Reform Commission). The special logo is shown below. In addition to promoting iron-added soy sauce, the center also promotes iron-fortified flour, iron-fortified rice, and edible oil fortified with vitamin A. These nutrient-fortified foods use the special logo.
In the past few years, the iron-based soy sauce on the market was mainly the latter, but now the former is more common. Although the two labeled products are promoted by different management departments, the enforced standards (especially the iron dosage) should be (I have checked for a long time, and I have not found a difference in iron dosage between the two) is the same. Moreover, both centers use fixed-point production (that is, designate special, certified manufacturers to produce) to manage iron soy sauce. Therefore, although the logo of iron soy sauce is a bit messy (some products have two logos printed at the same time), they are safe and reliable, and consumers can choose it with confidence.
As long as the management department is long, you control me to control everyone. In the end, the issue that no one cares about is always Chinese characteristics. I will not discuss it here. I hope it does not happen to the iron soy sauce.
